But by all means, celebrate that 19.5 million."
19.5 million too many.
Hasn’t been on in our home in years.
“Jimmy Kimmel sucks. He’s smug, divisive, not terribly funny, and no one watches his late-night show. America long ago rejected him.”
Trump was not wrong about Jimmy Kimmel:
“Has there ever been a worst host than Jimmy Kimmel at the Oscars? His opening was that of a less-than-average person trying too hard to be something which he is not and never can be.
Amen, President Trump, Amen.
Are the Hollywood people still giving each other trinkets as awards?
Trump was right, again. Kimmel was horrible. They need to go back to “no” host.
I truly didn’t even know that the Oscar’s had occurred.
Hollywood is slowly dying. It’s already dead for me.
Academy Awards
\/ is that what rhat was ?
i was channel surfing and thought it was just more disney pedophile groomers having a child transgender strip show or something of that nature.
I didn’t even know it was on
After bashing President Trump, it is no wonder that they lost so many viewers. Of course we do not watch it and have not in decades.
Though I did enjoy the YouTube upload of those two Black actor-comedians duking it out and cussing at each other during the presentations a few years back.
Regards,
As with everything else the leftists touch the movie industry has turned into a heaping pile of garbage. Sunday was just a celebration by the left destroying what’s left of our once great American culture!
Stopped watching when they started glorifying AIDS - red ribbons et al.
Didn’t stop Fox and phony midget Gutfed from shamelessly pimping that garbage.
We must be vigilant and cautious of the insidious influence that Hollywood exerts over our society, as it systematically erodes our traditional heroes and replaces them with controversial figures that do not align with our values and beliefs
Irony that a show giving out awards for entertaining is not entertaining.
Hollywood, so passe these days. They went from the golden age to the dump. I’d take a black and white 30’s - 40’s film over the car chase and body count stuff of today. I remain disappointed ever since “Idiocracy” never got an award for the best documentary.
But it was the highest rated Oscars in the past four years so there's that, and only because people actually went and saw two of the nominated films.
Oscars will never enjoy the viewership numbers they had back in the glory days of the 70s-90s because people aren't seeing the films today that get nominated and don't have an interest in who wins for performances they never watched.
I saw Oppenheimer...in IMAX...and I have the 4k disc. Great film. Apart from that I have no interest in what was covered the other night.
Bearer of bad news here: 19 million is a big turnout for broadcast tv nowadays. Over 2x some of the biggest long show finales.
I think the tuner in our tv is actually used 1 night/year -— New Years, and usually to discover we are not actually interested, and turn it back off (my wife has high hopes...).
I suspect many folks lie in this category (or even less).
