Public health advocates are watching in growing alarm as former President Trump increasingly embraces the anti-vaccine movement.
“I will not give one penny to any school that has a vaccine mandate or a mask mandate,” Trump said in a recent campaign rally in Richmond, Va.
It’s a line Trump has repeated, and his campaign said he is only referring to school COVID-19 vaccine mandates — but that hasn’t eased fears that the GOP leader could accelerate already worrying trends of declining child vaccination.
Trump “is an important voice. He has a big platform. And he uses that platform, in this case, to do harm. Because he’s implying by saying that we shouldn’t mandate vaccines, vaccines are in some ways ineffective or unsafe,” said Paul Offit, a pediatrician and vaccine expert at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

Aren't you the Edith who signed up to astroturf, got bored, stifled for exactly six years, then came back to lamely try to break President Trump's shoes? Take another 6-year hike. To Mars.
This Guy was sent in 2013 to FR Siberia to break rocks for six years, and you think it’s your job bust his chops in 2024.
Please.
Trump was never for the mandates.
Yes, the record is clear. Not only that, he has been consistently vocal in opposing and criticizing them.
To say he was is not true.
When has reporting lies about Trump ever stymied the legacy media? To be fair, they only lie about Trump on days that end in "y".
He did try to push Ivermectin and hydroxychloriquine first and took a lot of abuse for it.
His early discussion of hydroxychloroquine is well documented. Not finding much of a record of anything re: Trump and ivermectin, but that's not the point. He, correctly, urged the public health people to explore existing therapeutics during the early months of the CCP virus, and has never backed away from that, either.
...and his taking credit for clearing away the red tape around the approvals for the mRNA vax.
So just to be clear you think it's a good thing that Trump got rid of commonsense safety regulations to develop a new vaccine which has proven to cause more harm than it prevents?
All you have to do is a search on 'trump birx lying covid book' to look it up, if you really wanted to.
Didn't offer an opinion in that regard. Merely observed that Trump has, and continues, to take credit for getting it done on an accelerated schedule. He must know that some portion of his base doesn't like that, but he keeps on with it anyway.
The question is why does he persist? And will he continue? Will that affect your support of his campaign?
