1) If they succeeded (they won’t) the vote would go to the House.
2) The House votes by DELEGATION. Last I looked, the GOP had quite a lead there.
3) The House would certify President Trump, justify the Patriot Day (J6) opposition.

Most of GA is conservative; heavily populated areas are liberal.
Most of NYS is conservative; heavily populated areas are liberal. (The first time my husband visited my family in southwestern NY, he was shocked. Driving south from Buffalo Airport we saw more Confederate flags flying from trucks than we’ve ever seen in Tennessee.)
An entire state shouldn’t be disparaged for the actions of people in ghettos who, sadly, vote.

First, the bottom line ...
Consider that political party and media fuss about "obsolete" electoral college is because it is the only thing stopping the corrupt political parties from establishing a permanent puppet presidency that will unquestioningly sign unconstitutional taxing and spending bills into law.
Regarding electoral vote certification, the only measure that drafters of Constitution took to guarantee integrity of electoral votes is this imo. Evidenced by 12th Amendment (12A), a very small number of official constitutional electors in each state, not the millions of ordinary qualified citizen voters who actually have no express constitutional power to vote for POTUS, have full responsibly for unbroken chain of custody for getting signed and sealed ballots from where they meet in their respective states to the office of President of Senate.
Excerpted from 12A:
"The Electors shall meet in their respective states, and vote by ballot for President and Vice-President, one of whom, at least, shall not be an inhabitant of the same state with themselves; they shall name in their ballots the person voted for as President, and in distinct ballots the person voted for as Vice-President, and they shall make distinct lists of all persons voted for as President, and of all persons voted for as Vice- President, and of the number of votes for each, which lists they shall sign and certify, and transmit sealed to the seat of the government of the United States, directed to the President of the Senate [emphasis added];--The President of the Senate shall, in the presence of the Senate and House of Representatives, open all the certificates and the votes shall then be counted;--The person having the greatest number of votes for President, shall be the President, if such number be a majority of the whole number of Electors appointed; ..."
Noting that it is reasonable for Congress to vote on how to resolve technical problems with electoral vote counting, receiving an update to a state's electoral votes for example, the President of the Senate's job is only to count the votes.

On the other hand, the difficulty with counting Hawaii's electoral votes was predictable problem of counting the many politically correct votes of ordinary voters who don't have express constitutional power to vote for president.
The constitutional reality is that it has long been impossible for citizens to reverse engineer the corrupt political party smoke and mirrors of electoral votes, such confusion done in name of compliance with 12A only because citizens have grown up with this confusion, voters basically indoctrinated not to question it imo.
This ongoing, (deliberate?) political chaos concerning 12A is a consequence of complete failure of corrupt Congress's sworn duty to protect and defend defend the Constitution.
That being said, patriots need to primary worthless, Trump-hating incumbent lawmakers up for reelection this year, replacing them with Trump-supporting patriot lawmakers in November so that hopeful Trump 47 will not be a lame duck president from the first day of his second term in office, but will be supported by the new Congress to finish draining the swamp.
Again, consider that corrupt political party and media fuss about "obsolete" electoral college is because the electoral college is the only thing stopping the corrupt political parties that have pirated control of state and federal governments from establishing a permanent puppet presidency that will unquestioningly sign unconstitutional taxing and spending bills into law.
