I’m seeing articles saying that this is being investigated as a possible crime vs. the previously reported “axedent”.

The sheriff’s office dispelled that narrative a few days ago.... the Stateman in Austin had reported on it fairly extensively but I see that the piece I read is now ‘premium content’. Good catch on the Blanco property appraisal website. What I didn’t see mentioned there is the airstrip to the northwest... that must be listed under a different title.
If it was submerged, as that was the context of our discussion, ie, there are other vehicles besides Tesla that have electronic locks plus non-obvious remote releases. Oy.

Much like the Obama chef’s death, I suspect that all of this will be “splained away” and then disappeared (covered up). You know... the usual Clintonista scenario.

Sure, but Obama’s chef wasn’t a Director of the Bank of China or a Director of the Chiba State Shipbuilding Corporation or a billionaire owner of Foremost Shipping with a billionaire husband funding/partnering with the People’s Liberation Army.
Not to mention a sister who was Chairman of the Federal Maritime Commission and Secretary of Transportation. And brother in law who was Senate Leader.

the video of that property shows multiple types of terrain vehicles. Of course a bunch of panicked drunk women would not know what to do even if they knew about the vehicles.

And this conflict of interest....ChiCom in-laws ... is the best the GOP can do re: SML. Sad. And indicative of WHY we’re always on the losing, ‘s’ end of every deal.
So many have commented on having a window breaker so that one can get out. I wondered how these actually work underwater and so did a search on this... it turned out to be quite interesting as there are endless videos on youtube about this.
Two takeaways from what I found out...
1. Since the engine on an ICE car is the heavy spot, the front end will sink first. I’m not sure where the heavy spot is on an EV but that would be important to know.
2. Very important.... You must have a good quality window breaking device and that means one that is spring loaded that will pop out and destroy the glass. You can not swing a hammer underwater and in fact, at the first link it shows a hammer that actually broke and the guy using it wasn’t even in the water.

Bottom line... it is very important to have one of these in the car but it has to be a good quality one. And I suspect that by ‘good quality’, this means finding out for sure that it will break the glass for the car that you have. I have no doubt that some glass is much harder to break than others.
And that’s my public safety service message for the day.....

About the ChiCom connection between Mitch and his wife and sister-in-law. It’s not exactly new “news”.... and in a sane, if not perfect, world... it would equate to a huge conflict of interest... considering the sway Mitch has had over legislation passed in America.

Yes, but the “new news” is how close her sister who just died was to the Chinese Communists.
She had to have actually been a member of the party or equivalent to hold the positions she did.
There’s appeasement, constructive engagement, being a panda hugger etc…
But Angela Chao went well beyond that.
