Airlines should have issued heavy clubs to each passenger as they boarded the plane. They could be collected on exit.

I agree the people on Flight 93 had nothing to fight with. They had nothing to overwhelm a terrorists with in a timely fashion and purses were never going to work.
American justice is based on the notion that those of criminal intent are in the minority. As should be obvious, 9-11 showed us that attempting to disarm everyone in case some are, is a really stupid idea, especially in a closed environment. The majority become defenseless.
As far as your other post about shots on a platform, I don’t really get it unless you are talking about more than has been happening, like a terrorist attack. I’ve never understood why a modern subway has exposed tracks that you can push people onto in front of trains. There can easily be a fully enclosed wall with doors. You could issue the clubs at the turnstiles, if you thought that would help.
National Guard (i.e. Army) is trained to kill the enemy and break things...not do law enforcement. Repeat offenders are the problem. If you lock them up the problem will go away.
