Mea Culpa: Google Is Even More Evil Than I Thought
PJ Media ^ | MARCH 06, 2024 | Stephen Green

Posted on 03/06/2024 8:02:48 AM PST by george76

Let me start by telling you that I am perhaps unrivaled in my disgust for Google, parent company Alphabet, feckless CEO Sundar Pichai, and every single one of the company's products and services. I've gone so far as to switch to a paid search engine — Kagi — as part of my endless quest to remove myself forever from Google's revenue stream yet remain an internet user.

....

Google's Gemini team went to extra-special lengths to make the image generator as Woke as humanly possible, doing everything within their digital powers to lecture users, scold users, to erase white people — particularly white men — from history.

...

Gemini's backend went through the same process no matter what the prompt was, which was why none of the Vikings were white, the Nazis were black women, etc.

Solana said to a Google engineer that it looked to him that "in a way [diversity] is the product."

"Yes," the engineer told him, “we spend probably half of our engineering hours on this.”

Could I have been any more wrong about how and why Gemini failed?

If there's any solace to be found, it's that several people smarter and better informed on AI than I am agreed with my initial assessment.

If there's any good news to be found, it's this. AI is poised to destroy and replace search as Google defined it more than 20 years ago. Google's AI is so thoroughly corrupt that the company looks increasingly like a dinosaur surrounded by nimble little mammals — while a giant asteroid named AI hurtles toward the Earth.

Gemini did not fail. It produced output according to its design.

The real question is how could Google's management and engineering teams think that they could get away with such a blatant DEI infusion without it being immediately spotted and openly mocked?

It's one thing to program an AI to respond "I don't like to share political opinions" when asked to write a positive poem about Trump, while spewing forth reams of prose when asked the same question about Biden, but it's quite another to think that Black NAZIs in WWII SS uniforms would go unnoticed.

I wonder if there was some masterclass trolling going on with the Gemini project at google? I have worked with male Indian engineers before. They had a pretty dark sense of humor. Perhaps they conspired to make the results as ridiculous as possible while at the same time wanting to humiliate the constant DEI crap run by a self hating white male manager.

Just a thought.

Google had to hold an all hands meeting in 2016 because the “wrong” person won the election. Of course they are evil!

Google ‘American Scientists’ and click on images. Do the same for ‘American inventors’. Notice anything?

One good thing. It got people skeptical about AI.

“The real question is how could Google’s management and engineering teams think that they could get away with such a blatant DEI infusion without it being immediately spotted and openly mocked?”

Google management said they were complying with Biden’s EO.

Google management said they were complying with Biden’s EO.

Then 'bull' on Google management. EOs are only binding on executive departments within the government that report to the President, not on private corporations.

Unless Google has proof that specific oversight rules were put into place that they were legally compelled to comply with, that's a bunch of hogwash.

My understanding is that these AI algorithms are based on Large Language Models. They scour the internet for billions of pictures and texts.

Now I'm wondering how many paid monkeys typing into terminals are needed to coerce the model into the woke nonsense we see?

If Large Language Models are robust, then even thousands of SJWs entering wokeness should be swamped by the data sucked in from the internet.

If these algorithms are so easily misled, then they are not wise and not even particularly intelligent.

One of the things going on with Google’s Gemini is that Google was secretly rewriting the prompt:

You: Please show me a 16th century British King
Google: Please show the user a diverse representation of a 16th century British King but don’t use the word “diverse” in your answer
AI: OK, here is an image of a 16th century British King [black female who is probably a lesbian].

Top heavy, fat, rich companies like Google peak and then decline and fall. Microsoft, IBM and Apple went through this cycle too. Google has to fire CEO Sundar Pichai, all of his top level management and gut the DEI obsessed HR. Musk proved that a tech company could get by with only its engineers.

“how could Google’s management and engineering teams think that they could get away with such a blatant DEI infusion without it being immediately spotted and openly mocked?”

Have you ever been to Mountain View? The Google Campus? Or maybe Cupertino where a lotta Google employees live?

Hint: You might thing you were in Madras or Mumbai. And that’s the way the whole valley feels these days. White people - cough, the Americans - are only about 1/4 of the population anymore, and going down.

Take a look at the Cupertino High School website. The junior prom page is especially enlightening. Note that in 1985, this school was about 85% White.

And that’s why Google people think it’s perfectly normal.
