The Dolton, Illinois, village board unanimously voted to open a probe into Henyard, calling on her to submit the village’s financial records and inviting the FBI to conduct its own investigation.

Why the FBI?

Doesn't the State if Illinois have an organization tasked with investigating the corruption of government officials?

I think it is called Illinois Bureau of Criminal Investigations

It is my opinion that the States are much better off handling these things In House.

The less reason you give the Feds to come in to your state the better. Certainly do not invite them in. Like a vampire; don't invite them in to your house.

Only evil can come of it.

I wonder if this investigative department is out of Springfield, or if it is all Chicago staffed, based, and ideology?
