Here’s a look at some key races:
27th District: The northern Los Angeles County seat currently held by Rep. Mike Garcia (R-Santa Clarita) probably will be one of the most competitive partisan House races in the country come November. Because both parties have coalesced around their respective candidates, Democrat George Whitesides is favored to advance out of the primary to battle Garcia in the fall. A second Democrat, business owner Steve Hill, is also on the ballot ..
Early results showed Garcia(R) in first place with more than half the vote and Whitesides in second place.
40th District: In an inland suburban district that’s largely based in Orange County, with slivers of Riverside and San Bernardino counties, incumbent Republican Rep. Young Kim is facing off against two Democratic challengers: Joe Kerr, a retired fire captain, and Allyson Muñiz Damikolas, a Tustin Unified School District board member. With Young favored to make the runoff, it’s a question of which Democrat will join her on the ballot in what’s sure to be a nationally watched general election race.
Early results showed Kim with a substantial lead in first place (51.4%) followed by Kerr, with Damikolas far behind.
45th District: Republican Rep. Michelle Steel is fending off four Democratic challengers — Kim Nguyen-Penaloza, Derek Tran, Aditya Pai and Cheyenne Hunt — for an inland Orange County seat that also includes a slice of Los Angeles County. Much like in the 40th District, it’s a question of which Democrat will be battling Steel in the fall.
Early results put Steel far ahead of the pack with more than half of the vote. Tran was in second place, followed by Nguyen-Penaloza.

My hope is that unenthusiastic Biden voters stay home in November, and are too lazy to even fill out their mail in ballots.
Ditto
They’ve got people who handle the filling out of ballots for their voters, whether the voter is aware of it or not.
The dem machine, particularly the dem machine in California, is set up to address this. Even if you're too lazy to fill out the mail in ballots, there's probably a harvester nearby to check up on you and offer to do all the boring filling in stuff for you.
The Dems can (and have) run a soggy potato for office and still win elections because they have been focused on this vote generating machinery. They won't just lose due to a poor candidate, they have to be beaten.
Not a problem, the political operatives in the Dem party will fill them out for the “lazy”, the homeless, the illegals, etc.
Uncommitted came in second in Minnesota and Biden lost American Samoa.
