Some time ago there was a great, great BBC crime drama series called "Inspector George Gently". He's a former Metropolitan Police officer (meaning London) who got sick of London moved up north...hundreds of miles (and about a century) from London. One of the main plot themes to his episodes was inept and/or crooked cops.

Outstanding series...and maybe more real that was originally thought.

My wife has recently watched every single episode. She loves that genre from England, Ireland and just about every other cop show presented on BritBox, Acorn and PBS. There’s cop dramas from all over the place. She watched one recently from Ireland that the brogue was thick that even with close captioning, I couldn’t understand a single word they said.
