Railroad indistry had a public service announcement, “Always expect a train” warning drivers to be careful around crossings lest they become a fatality. In Central Mass. someone was killed by a train when they were at a crossing, were blinded by the sun, and were hit by a train.

as his walkman was up too loud. Youtube video showed a train colliding with a car full of young people who decided to make it across the tracks despite train warning. You couldn’t see the collision but could hear it. The train’s engineer tried to stop but it wound up pushing the car quite a distance. Engineer got out to see the damage and came back, shaking his head. All dead.
And train surfing is beyond stupid.
I knew a guy who was an engineer in the mid 20th century. He told me he had no idea how many people he killed but was confident that they were all the fault of the “victims”
