A bit of a paradox here, isn’t it?

1. We Freepers like Trump.
2. Trump speaks favorably about Martin Luther King.
3. Many Freepers hate Martin Luther King.

What are we supposed to think, if our guy Trump expresses positive opinions about someone who is disliked?

No one in their right mind should “hate” Dr MLK Jr. Where did you get that odd claim?

I like mlk. I like what he stands for— content of character not color of skin. I think it does little good to get into the weeds about a person who is an icon, like George Washington or Thomas Jefferson. When we do that, we lose the ability to use that person’s best work as something to aspire to. I want the best myth of the dead hero, not the dirt. It’s why I can, for example, be stirred by the Psalms of King David, even though I know he was a serious sinner.
