MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A family is seeking answers after they said just days after Thanksgiving, Miami-Dade police shot and killed a grandfather of three young children.
Loved ones say it happened while he was with his teenage son, trying to protect their property from intruders.
“We were on our property, trying to protect our property because someone was trying to rob us,” said Osvaldo Cueli III, the victim’s son.
“They are covering up my dad’s death,” added Gabriela Cueli, the victim’s daughter.
They are siblings gripped by the trauma of seeing their father, Osvaldo Cueli, shot dead in their driveway.
The Cuelis said that the account of the shooting from officers is at friction with what they witnessed and what they captured on video.
“The only person that didn’t make it home was my dad and he was home,” said Osvaldo Cueli III. “There was no cop lights, there were no sirens.”
“Someone came into our property and my dad drove out to chase them,” said Gabriela Cueli.
“I know, we pulled over, we identified ourselves and he took out a gun on us,” an officer is heard saying in the video.

I see it’s almost time for the marching season and spring riots. We start getting the outrage stories just before.
Like in 2020, first it was Arbery the jogger, then Briona Taylor, then they hit pay dirt with Floyd George.
It’s a spring time thing.
Plain-clothed police trespassing is no better than no-knock raiding.
It’s all under inappropriate conditions. If you get shot and hadn’t announced yourself, it’s not something the homeowner should ever be held responsible for.
Back the blue, till it happens to you.
Homeowner didn’t shoot the police or raise his gun. Plain clothed police opened fire and killed him on his own property.
I would call that murder.
Cops are held at a higher stand than anyone else at a bad shot. Why? Because?
People defending themselves that are kill by police being wrong need to have those police being prosecuted with 2nd or 1 class felonies and jailed to the endless anal rape they’ll have in prison.
an unmarked car parked on this guys property...no warning, no headsup, just parked there....the owner, an older fellow came out at night to investigate with a gun.....
somehow, the older guy was shot and killed...the cop gave all kinds of reasons like he felt he was threatened...
the cop didn't even give a statement initially...he went on a 10 day vacation and didn't face questioning on the death until he came back....
it stunk to high heaven...but the cop got away with killing an elderly man who was on his own property...
Almost all cops go in hung ho, kill people. They’re all psychopaths.
There are a few, here and there, that do they right thing. They especially go out of their way to placate women and blacks since bodycams.
But if they really don’t like a white guy, those cams will won’t work during the wet phase of their actions.
I think it happens more than people think.
Nefarious people impersonate cops. Swat teams are impersonated to do home invasions.
These guys were in plainclothes, anyone can claim to be a cop and drive a crown victoria.
“Almost all cops go in hung ho, kill people. They’re all psychopaths.”
Well, at least you’re not making broad, generalized statements without a single fact to back them up.

“killed a grandfather of three young children.”
“the trauma of seeing their father, Osvaldo Cueli, shot dead”
Is this a case of “I’m my own grandpa”?
total bs.
the victim hadn’t drawn his weapon.
seems like an execution.
no matter, all cops involved should be arrested for murder and sitting in prison.
No, you’re just unable to discern what you read... :)
What is the “wet phase”?
From the article:
“police said detectives with their Illegal Dumping Unit”
This is probably why they were so quick on the trigger. I mean, “Illegal Dumping Unit” is probably a pretty intense assignment. That’s why they wear plain clothes and use unmarked cars. (In my world, plain clothes and unmarked cars would only be used in undercover operations, never in normal police activity.)
They were trespassing on his property.
Period.
However, we can clear this up in under a minute.
Just show me the warrant.
Agreed.
Additionally, this would be the first time I’ve heard of LEO firing from inside their vehicle THROUGH the windshield, regardless the threat. That’s not LEO training. It smacks of abject violence, i.e. - as you stated - an execution.
If anyone’s got a ping list for updates, please put me on it.
