We’re not sending our family members to fight and die in that war. We’ll send them to Canada.

About sending “members of [your] family” to Canada: Canada is a member of NATO.

Canada is talking about sending troops to help currently. Would they shelter US deserters again while doing that or have dynamics indeed changed? I was around during and recall Vietnam era too.

Canada is not our friend, just saying. If you have children that have joined the volunteer armed forces, they need to live up to their obligations. Or don’t join. We don’t have a draft.

Why did Zelensky “fail to defend democracy” given the
generous military and financial support from the US?

About $113.1 billion US tax dollars were authorized in 2022 for Ukraine, according to the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget. Most of it–about $67.1 billion–was defense-related. The other $46 billion included:
<><>$26.9 billion for economic support;
<><>$7.9 billion for international disaster assistance;
<><>$6.6 billion in assistance for refugees;
<><>$1.5 billion for assistance for Europe, Eurasia and Central Asia;
<><>plus $3.1 billion for other non-defense spending.

US tax dollars helped Ukraine
<><>pay the salaries of 618,000 educators, 517,000 health workers, and 56,500 first responders
<><>helped sustain critical healthcare services,
<><>helped meet pension responsibilities for 9.8 million people,
<><>assisted 1.3 million internally displaced persons,
<><>provided housing assistance to 4.1 million people,
<><>provided social assistance to 240,000 low-income families
<><>helped subsidize 480,000 persons with disabilities,
<><>bought supplies for farmers,
<><>financed finding markets for small business.

I have a 18 year old grandson who has a severe gluten allergy. When the draft comes he will be spared being marched off as Globohomo cannon fodder.

Sounds like it’s about time to find a nice isolated island in the Pacific and hide from the missiles.

Hilarious. Canada is part of NATO, too.

He’ll run out of former Republics to retake, then go after the former satellites who are not part of NATO, and when he runs out of them, he’ll fancy himself ready for NATO, starting maybe with Lithuania, then Poland. Hopefully, he’ll die one way or the other before it comes to that, and be replaced with a non-megalomaniac. But hope is not a plan. Wearing him out, or preferably defeating him, in Ukraine, would avoid all that. It’s worth the expense.

My next door neighbor here in Israel is from Russia, and she’s got a son in the Russian army. She has given her middle fingers up to Putin in my presence. Ergo, she didn’t want to send her son to fight and die in Ukraine, either. But Putin didn’t ask for her leave. Nobody will ask for yours, either, when he starts munching away at more of his neighbors, once he gobbles up Ukraine. Ergo, the least bad thing to do is make him choke on Ukraine.

Here’s a thought - we have millions of illegal immigrants - male and fighting age - and can send those folks.

If you make it back alive you can stay and get fast tracked to citizenship.

...I’ve already told my sons to NOT register for the draft when their 18th birthday rolls around for the very same reason. Let the Libs go and die for their Wokeism ideology in some muddy European potato field, but leave my boys OUT of it!
