Sitting Judge Goes on CNN to Complain About Alleged Threat Donald Trump Poses to ‘Democracy’
UNBELIEVABLE. A sitting federal judge went on CNN Thursday night to excoriate former President Donald Trump.
Judge Reggie Walton, a former President George W. Bush appointee, talked with CNN about Trump’s recent statements regarding the daughter of a judge hearing Trump’s hush money case in New York.
“It’s very disconcerting to have someone making comments about a judge, and it’s particularly problematic when those comments are in the form of a threat, especially if they’re directed at one’s family,” Walton said.
The unusual action drew criticism from those who believe the judge’s conduct violates professional guidelines.
Walton’s interview was especially remarkable since Trump is facing criminal charges in Washington D.C., Walton’s district.
Walton has even reviewed cases involving the Jan. 6 Capitol incident that are similar to Trump’s case.
Mike Howell of the conservative Heritage Foundation said he has urged his organization’s legal staff “to carefully consider how these unprecedented partisan comments on a partisan network impact our cases before Judge Reggie Walton.”
Mike Davis (@mrddmia), the head of the Article III Project, said Walton’s interview is “extremely inappropriate” and said his organization will submit a complaint for judicial misconduct.
“Is this a (bad) joke? This is a sitting federal judge. And he’s commenting on a pending criminal case? Against the leading presidential candidate? During the height of the election season? If so, this is highly prejudicial,” Davis wrote in a statement.
“This is a problem,” added William Shipley (@shipwreckedcrew).
Judge Walton’s interview comes after New York Judge Juan Merchan issued a gag order on Trump this week.
The Washington D.C. courts are not even trying to hide their partisan bias against Donald Trump and his supporters.
If there were any justice in America, all ongoing cases for non-violent J6 defendants before these radical judges should be declared mistrials and all remaining J6 cases transferred out of the D.C. court system.
Ultimately, the biggest hope for these non-violent J6 defendants to get justice is that Donald Trump is elected president and he pardons their cases.
