Also, why would a 13 year old mention at the time of her birthday (she had just turned 13) that she wanted to go live in the woods?! I grew up in Florida. Between the mosquitos, snakes, rats, feral dogs/cats, and whatnot it’s the last place anyone would want to live. Much less a young girl.
I’m sure she was romanticizing the idea, if it’s true at all. Probably wanted to live in a cute little cabin like Laura Ingalls Wilder.
