I lived in a Chicago suburb then, and my dad, who had 12 stores in Chicago, donated to the union “pension fund” so his trucks would get through when drivers went on strike. He also went down to City Hall and got me a drivers license when I was 15 and too young to drive. No drivers’ test, no problem.
I always think of that Daley as an honest crook. Chicagoans would be lucky to have someone that effective running that wonderful city now.

True, but I was much more concerned about the effect on downstream candidates in the general election if Trump is not on the ballot.
November election is for electors. They run unpledged. If the officials at the meeting try to reject votes for Trump, hopefully when congress meets to count electors GOP controls both houses the vote will be awarded to Trump
