Serial rapist Iain Packer has been jailed for life after being found guilty of murdering Emma Caldwell in 2005.

Packer, 51, had been accused of murdering Miss Caldwell, 27, who vanished in Glasgow in 2005 and whose naked body was found in Limefield Woods, near Roberton, South Lanarkshire, the following month.

The former sign fitter was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 36 years for Miss Caldwell's murder following a six-week trial.

He was also convicted of 33 charges, including 11 charges of rape, against 22 women following a three-decade reign of physical and sexual violence between 1990 and 2016.

Police Scotland, who interviewed Packer a month after Miss Caldwell's body was found, have apologised to her family and his other victims for being 'let down' by policing in 2005.

If a “John” gets murdered by his consort or his consorts’ pimp.(husband, boyfriend, etc)..does he not deserve that?
If one engaged in behaviour that can get oneself get killed, I lean toward the viewpoint that they deserve what they get.
Sad, but they put themselves in that position.

People put themselves in terrible and dangerous positions all the time. This in itself doesn’t justify someone being murdered. Murder is still murder whatever the situation. When people do get murdered who put themselves is a dangerous situation this is not an unexpected consequence but is still tragic.
