For those of you outside California, it might be hard to even wrap your heads around what a cynical game both Schiff and Porter are playing in this election, both desperately trying to manipulate CA’s beleaguered cohort of GOP voters.

CA has a primary wherein the top 2 vote-getters make it to the general election regardless of party affiliation.

Schiff bombards the airwaves with “Stop Garvey” ads that showcase Steve Garvey’s bona fides as a conservative and Trump supporter, with the aim of securing enough GOP/independent votes to ensure that Garv finishes 2nd, ahead of Porter, obviously because he believes that he can easily take down Garv in the general.

Porter, on the other hand, is running ads that showcase Eric Early’s bona fides as a conservative and Trump supporter, with the aim of splitting GOP/independent votes between Garv and Early to ensure that Garv finishes 3rd, leaving the general election to Schiff and herself.

It’s the most cynical, weaselly political campaign I’ve ever seen in my life, but of course with Schiff involved, I guess I shouldn’t be surprised.

I do not like the primary system in CA...I like the old system...Each party should have a candidate in November...Even Green Party...

I am going to vote for Steve Garvey...I do not want two Dems in November election...I usually skip voting for a position if I have to choose between two Dems...
