The quality of the people joing the military is summed up by the USAF idiot that set himself on fire in front of the Israeli embassy while in uniform hollering free Palestine.

I’m speculating here, but if I had a soldier in my unit that offed himself, the chain of command would have been scrutinized: squad leader, platoon sergeant, platoon leader, battery commander.

Until the chain of command becomes responsible to the mission and the soldiers, there won’t be any improvement.
