(Early in WWII) The US Navy briefed a Senator (Legislator) on why the Japanese had not sunk many US subs. Turns out they didn’t know how deep US subs could go. When a reporter asked the senator about it, he said, “The stupid Japanese are setting their depth charges too high.” The Japanese immediately corrected and started sinking subs.

Thank You, General, that is an absolutely true incident, and the reason that the US Naval Submarine Service is called "The Silent Service", Submarine Sailors don't discuss secret stuff with outsiders.
