He’s not telling them to give up coffee, he’s telling them to brew their own.
Likewise, I learned early that I could eat pretty well for less than the cost of McDonalds every day.

LOL. I don’t know why it is, but I’ve always felt like a scofflaw of some kind if I use a bathroom in a business establishment and I’m not a customer.

I’m guessing he’s assuming replacing it with a coffee and appliances that cost the other $750 (for $6 coffees)

yep. things went way up. But you’ll be avoiding that rather than either saving big if not for the inflation, or paying big like most people.

If your employer offers a match on your retirement account (401k), you would be leaving free money on the table by not participating.Indeed. Free money, and potentially a considerable sum of free money even if the feral government is going to eventually steal a lot of it from you at the point of a gun.

Some years ago I started eating low-carb/keto, and it significantly improved my health. And I very quickly learned that eating well takes either:
- Money, to eat out in good restaurants, or
- Work, to prepare decent meals every day, or
- Planning, to have the necessaries prepared for decent meals without a lot of work.
Me, I chose planning. An afternoon with a crockpot can yield a weeks worth of dinners. A three pound chuck roast can yield six half-pound steaks, and cooked sous-vide chuck roast is better than rib eye.
So I'd buy a chuck roast, cut it up into steaks, vacuum seal them, and toss them into the freezer. So I kept a crock-pot with a sous-vide thermocouple under my desk. I'd drop a steak into the pot in the morning, and at lunch time I'd pull it out, sear it on an $18 George Foreman grill, steam some asparagus in the microwave, and sit down to a really nice lunch.
I had coworkers ask me how I could afford to eat like that. My meal cost less than their Chipotle.
