A three-year-old girl was brutally beaten to death by two young suspects while her mother allegedly went to the casino to gamble with a friend.
Terica Scott, 26, and Dineshia Yates, 26, were each charged with one count of principal to simple battery and principal to second-degree murder in the death of Blessings Buckles, according to records obtained by Law&Crime.
The unnamed juveniles - ages 10 and 12 - were detained and each charged with one count of battery and second-degree murder.
On February 12, deputies with the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office responded to a call at around 3:45PM after getting reports of an unresponsive three-year-old girl at a home on the 3300 block of O'Neal Lane.
At the time of the call, the caller - who identified themselves as a child - told the dispatcher that there were no adults in the home, a release from the sheriff's department reads.
As they arrived on the scene, first responders reported seeing the two women pulling into the driveway of the home with their hazard lights on.
The women would inform police that they had left the children at the home while they had gone to the casino, with the ages of the children inside the home ranging from 11 months to 12 years old. Authorities would later determine that Scott was the mother and aunt of the two older children while Yates was the mother of Blessings.
Blessings was resuscitated at the home by emergency medical personnel and rushed to hospital for treatment, where she was admitted as being in critical condition. She would later succumb to her injuries and was pronounced dead on Feb 14.
The toddler suffered a brain bleed as well as bruising to the face and body which were likely caused by blunt force trauma...

Lo, this only have I found, that God hath made man upright; but they have sought out many inventions. (Ecclesiastes 7:29 [KJV])
Mankind can make choices, choices have consequences, and rejection of the light of conscience and Scripture leads to darkness.
Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth. (John 12:35 [KJV])
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. (Ephesians 6:12 [KJV])
“There’s been a push, such as by the Boston Celtics in MA, to up the age at which perps can be tried as adults to 21!”
Not surprising. Certain organizations like pro sports have been plagued by their choices who way too many times are determined guilty of things from wife beaters to child molesters, and in some cases been directly tied into capital crime cases. And this is where society is trying like hell to create their childrens’ heroes and mentors.
Being able to be big, or swing a bat, or hit people like a freight train like in football or ice hockey, or any of the tasks that separate society from too many elite sports performers are not what I would say qualifies them to be the role model they are professing. And not enough thugs like Charles Barkley are out there saying they are not those people that kids should emulate. But as long as society is lowering themelves by receiving an education, whether street or school, with cominhg out the other side with undercooked brains accepting results that a dead person wouldn’t consider, we will be stuck with the loss of our future children as they grow up literally programmed for stupidity. And continuing to putting out fires we started. And they are less capable than we are as time takes its toll on the assembly line.

LOL. Touche’
Blessings buckles, poor kid. Both need to be burned at the stake in the town square
Concur. In the early 1990s, our kids were 2 years old and our babysitter was a 12 yr old. The teenager did very well. My wife started babysitting when she was 12 as well.
