The Ruskies are going to have to take all or most of the Ukraine if they want to successfully de-Nazify the Ukes.
I have a degree in history and a lifetime of reading in the subject. I prefer discussion based on facts to swapping insults. Please, if you have something tangible to offer, put it on the table.
“Has NATO or Ukraine posted a similar analysis?”
Doubt it, but they’re probably writing requirements right now for future Main Battle Tanks and APVs to be equipped with handicap-capable toilets for women, along with requirements for a new flavor of wire insulation as the rodents in Ukraine are getting tired the existing flavor.
No, because you normally do not release that in the middle of a war. Public analysis, like this purports to be, is done AFTER the war
During a war an analysis is done for the commanders, and is not public. It is used for planning future operations.
This is clearly propaganda, since it really doesn’t analyze. Instead it just does surface only comparisons to the Great Patriotic War (World War II), which is Putin’s go for, well, everything. Pretty much worthless for any actual study of the war.
“Like the fools in the Pentagon, you refuse to even look at the data.”
He simply TROLLS here, trying to convince us that CNN has more credibility than our sources.
I think that’s pretty much what they’re left with, at this point.
“I’d like to see Ukraine’s account of their counteroffensive. Have they released one similar to this account?”
The Ukrainians claim the counteroffensive is still going on (at least through last week, as now it’s in reverse). As to a report, they’ll have their standard answer: Not enough money for Zelensky.
A counteroffensive? They are losing villages by the day. They are spread thinly along a 600 mile border and under pressure all along it. What land or towns has this “counteroffensive” taken? The battle maps keep moving in the same direction, further into Ukraine. My favorite guy to follow is an ex-military guy who spent 6 months in Ukraine advising and is on Ukraine’s side. He’s says Ukraine is in big trouble and things are going the wrong way.
Who’s your guy - sounds like he’s on top of things. But I did Ukraine claiming that their “Greatest Counteroffensive” is continuing - LOL!
I agree it’s mainly propaganda, that’s to be expected. I’ll just stick with watching the action on the ground, which is instructive enough. The dominoes are falling faster each week.
Willy OAM on Youtube. He wants to go back to Ukraine but can’t because he he’s dying of a terminal illness. He spends his remaining time following the action and has good in-country contacts. He is completely in Ukraine’s corner but not a propagandist.
How much did you end wasting on your college indoctrination? I hope Biden erased any cost to you, otherwise, your butt got gypped, Big Time.
What a load of crap.
Thanks, you mentioned him before. I like him also, and agree, he’s straight down the middle when it comes to reporting accurately - very sad regarding his condition.
Agreed. I have a lot of respect for him.
I’d like to see Ukraine’s account of their counteroffensive.

I’m sure the fiction writers at your institute would be glad to help them.
That’s nonsense. This entire analysis is solely about tactics. It has zip to do about the political reasons for being on the battlefield. As far as the political reasons for the Russian response, in 1941 they were protecting themselves from an alliance of Germany and other current day NATO members who, unprovoked, were trying to destroy Russia. Today, Russia is reacting to Germany and again a bunch NATO partners who, unprovoked, are trying to destroy Russia.
FYI, many years ago I posted an article in a gaming magazine called “Against the Odds” about what might have happened had the U.S. not entered WW II vs. Germany. I looked at the share of German military resources dedicated to stopping the bombing campaign. (I understand the Brits bombed at night, although there were far fewer Luftwaffe night aircraft, but you did have searchlight expenses.) Anyway, I calculated that about 30% of German wartime GNP was going to anti-bombing. I did not bother with the share of Soviet equipment that either came from the US or parts/radio wire, etc. that supported them. Just the German side.
The Soviets won Kursk after a few days when the Luftwaffe was defeated by the Red Army. Up to that point, however, they had great success vs. Russkie tanks via their Stuka 37mm armed tank destroyers, which were wreaking havoc. If the Germans had had 30% more airplanes at Kursk, I calculated they would have won. Doesn’t mean they would have won the war-—which I think was impossible-—but they could have gotten a stalemate and negotiated end.
Did you actually read the analysis? If not, you should. It is written from the same frame of reference in comparing 1943 to 2023 as you used in your article. I found the comparison made very compelling.
Thanks for this, guys! [SaxxonWoods & BobL]
