I watched an 1957 “B” movie “Zero Hour!” and was amazed by how refreshing it was. No “wokeness” the hero was a white male Canadian WWII veteran.
That movie you referred to, “Zero Hour”, was used as the template for parody in “Airplane”, one of the greatest comedies of all time.
The “Airplane” producers even bought the rights to “Zero Hour” so they could lift entire segments of dialogue and plot points.
