It's absolutely unbelievable the amount of old TV shows available for free on the Internet at various places (YT, Tubi TV, Pluto TV, etc.). Last night I watched the first episode of "Mr. Peepers" from 1952. The series was performed live and exists only on kinescope, and it's probably missing a lot of episodes. Even YT has the entire (two seasons) original "The Outer Limits." Tubi TV seems to have the ENTIRE Tom Baker "Doctor Who" series.

The thing is, as storied as they are, many of these old comedies (like "Mr. Peepers") are simply not that good or that funny, at least by today's standards. I hope it's not because they're clean! "I Love Lucy" is truly hilarious and I once laughed out loud watching old abridged episodes of "December Bride," but most old sitcoms are not a big deal.

Watch
Car 54
Sgt Bilko
Amos & Andy **

** Even though the “civil rights” moved campaigned against this show its genius and many black comics such as Red Fox defended the show. Primarily the show depicts hard working black Americans in a middle class setting. The goofballs providing comic relief are Andrew Brown, Kingfish and Algonquin J. Calhoun. Every other black is a hard-working middle class American. The white equivalent is “The Honeymooners”. Ralph and Ed no more represented white American then Andy, Kingfish & Algonquin represented black America. The actors and writers in both cases provided incredible comedy!

My wife and I watch the old Lucy shows and McHale’s Navy. Tim Conway was a young man.
