This is my experience also, though I started to notice a significant uptick during the George Floyd "summer of love". I've been taking new shooters to the range for many years, but there is currently much greater demand than past experience would dictate. The majority of folks asking me have been women, which is interesting. And not only learning to shoot, but actually following through and buying their first gun. I kind of wish I had an FFL, I could have sold a lot of Glocks over the past year.
