DeSantis has/had zero chance constitutionally of being the VP on Trump's ticket presuming Trump gets the nomination this summer. They are both Florida residents.
This whole line of questions is unnecessary and distracting. Maybe Trump is feeling desparate like Cruz in 2015. Will he rush out a lame pick comparable to Fiorina? And as Trump has bad history of picking bad people or turning good people against him, I guess this is very possible.

Trump could change his residence back to Manhattan or to Bedminster if he wanted to pick DeSantis or Byron Donalds, who was also on the short list. Remember, Cheney was living in Texas when Bush picked him, so he changed his residence back to Wyoming.
