Could/should we have kept Bagram AFB to the North of Kabbul? And kept it in perpetuity for strategic location purposes?
Perhaps some here have an informed opinion what that would have entailed and if it would have been worth the effort needed to keep and protect it.

Trump had threatened the Taliban if they exploited our withdrawal, so Bagram wouldn’t have been sitting in the middle of a totally hostile country.
And when they double crossed us, Bagram would have been the platform to bomb them from.
