On Friday’s broadcast of HBO’s “Real Time,” CNN Senior Political Commentator and former Obama Adviser Van Jones and columnist and author Ann Coulter sparred over the failed Senate border bill and the U.S. immigration system.
After host Bill Maher argued that Democrats have turned the immigration issue around on Republicans, Jones said, “Look, it turns out there is a conspiracy to keep the border open, to flood the country with undocumented people, and it’s led by Donald Trump and the Republican Party, because, down there, open border. They had the opportunity to close it.” Later on, Jones stated, “It is now the Republicans’ open border.”

nothing in that bill would have FORCED Biden to stop the illegal aliens. The executive will ALWAYS have the discretion to execute the laws how they see fit.
Biden doesn’t want to stop the illegal aliens, and thus would always use his discretion to do nothing. So any compromise would have been one-sided.

Both parties play games by blaming the other for inaction. It’s been the game for years. This latest border bill was more of the same fake border protection BS. I read the bill to mean 5000/day are allowed to enter illegally. Two problems I found with it.

The reason they hate Trump is because he actually would stop the flow of illegal immigration....which threatens both parties for reasons we can guess at.
Trump is nominally a Republican, but in actuality he’s a populist along the vein of an Abraham Lincoln....leading a group of people who are aggravated that neither party is seriously addressing a major issue.
