“The judge seems to be on the one hand implying to the attorneys that the untruthfulness has been demonstrated & does not need to be further elucidated and on the other hand protecting Willis.
I hope that the first case is an accurate read of the judge’s view. It will further destroy my belief in the Justice system if this brazen couple is given license to avoid censure by perverting the system.”

I think the judge has already decided to disqualify Willis based upon the evidence to date, but is letting the hearing proceed so that the record will be complete.

It is my understanding that if he does disqualify her, the case and any results are simply wiped away as if it never happened, including any plea deals by co-defendants. Any other DA would have to start over from the beginning.

Couldn’t hope for a better outcome, but I’m realistic. Would be shocked for that to happen at this point.

In a sane and just world, you would be 100% correct and I would agree. we are not living in a sane and just world, so I expect the worst.

In my first bench trial, I had a lot of evidentiary objections during the testimony and the judge overruled every one of my objections. He then sustained every objection by opposing counsel.

I won the case. I learned early that when trying a case before a judge, if he sustains all your objections and grants every objection of your opponent, you better consider a settling the case before the ruling comes down.
