Russian withdrawal would end this war immediately. Then both sides can argue about sanctions and reparations.

Russia can’t withdraw.
Let’s pretend for a moment the USA hadn’t been initiating this war for decades and Russia decided it wanted to surrender Ukraine to the west. Immediately, there would be escalation on other Russian border countries. We aren’t going to stop with Ukraine.
