Democrats will never give way on the border, just for military aid for Ukraine.
They will run ads they tried to pass a "bi-partisan bill" to "fix" the border and Republicans killed it. If Ukraine collapses, the ensuing refugees will be blamed on Republicans for not supporting a weapons aid bill.
I agree they don’t really GAGS about Ukraine. Had Zelensky not photographed well as a neo-Churchill, they wouldn’t have given anything. The aid that they did give is mostly fake. Tanks were publicly discussed for so long that the Russians took advantage of the delay and planted land minds all over the f#@$ing place. No big plane air support potentially meant that the Ukes couldn’t take out the artillery covering the mine fields, so any progress at all in a Uke counter-offensive became difficult. Fortunately, the Ukes are wizards with drones and they did get missiles, so they could keep Russia on the defensive. But this is not real help, so they’re crying crocodile tears over Ukraine aid. As for Israel, well, they hate Israel anyway. And as for Taiwan, they are probably secretly rooting for China, that pays all the juicy bribes and lets them play bang-bang with Fang Fang.
So HR 2 will remain stuck in the Senatorial mud, and Brandon’s fake border bill will get nowhere in the House, for damned good reason, but Brandon and the MSM will pretend like it’s a real remedy and put the blame on the Republicans for killing it.
On the plus side, Ukrainian refugees will probably be more peaceable and hard-working than the present rabble. So will the Moldavians, and refugees from whatever other eastern European countries Russia invades after putting paid to Ukraine.
