Oh my! I’ve not thought of this for many years. I was in Tampa at work on the 4th floor of my office. We heard about the plane crash and immediately assumed another terror attack. We could see the smoke rising from the building it struck. As on 9/11, we were again evacuated for safety’s sake.
That January day, my daughter was attending Blake High School downtown in close proximity to the building which was struck. Of course school was closed and kids loaded onto the busses to take home. So...my daughter tells me that the route her bus always took went past the building struck. As they passed it the kids were all freaking out because as they looked out the windows they could see THE PLANE HANGING OUT OF THE BUILDING RIGHT OVER THEIR HEADS a number of stories up! Dang, right? Let’s keep our children safe by driving them under a plane half in half out of high rise.
Wow. Glad the kids were okay.
Probably would have had to get a set of paperwork approved over a three day period to change an existing school bus route to avoid the crash site.
