Jill Biden has come out fighting following the scathing special prosecutor's report on her husband's memory, saying claims Joe forgot their son Beau's death were intended 'to score political points.'
'Believe me, like anyone who has lost a child, Beau and his death never leave him,' the First Lady said in a statement shared by a campaign X account.
The statement came in response to special prosecutor Robert K. Hur's conclusion that Biden should not be charged for mishandling classified documents, but only because a jury wouldn't convict him because he would appear as 'a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory.'
But the argument that President Biden couldn't forget his son's tragic death defies public gaffes he has made on the topic in the past.
This included a rally from June 2023, when Biden claimed he and Jill 'lost our son in Iraq' - despite Beau passing away in Maryland in 2015 from brain cancer.
Beau served in Iraq and may well have caught the disease from exposure to 'burn pits' where toxic military material is incinerated.
But critics of the Bidens are likely to accuse Jill of hypocrisy for choosing to zero in on specifics when her husband has previously paid lip-service to them himself.
In her statement shared Saturday evening, the First Lady began: 'Friends, I've heard from so many of you asking about the Special Counsel's report this week. Thank you for your love and support.'
She said that viewers 'probably know the basics' of the case, that the president 'cooperated fully with a Special Counsel's investigation and they found he did nothing wrong.'
'No criminal charges were warranted,' she said, linking to an opinion piece by historian Heather Cox Richardson that claimed the prosecutor report 'amounted to a partisan hit job.'

Joe & Jill went up the hill to fetch a pail of money...
Fine Jill, then let’s see Joe out there doing the Super Bowl interview, let’s see him do news conferences every week, let’s see him do live rallies across the country, that should be no problem
Wrong, "doctor"! Hur found pedojoe guilty as hell, but too retarded and senile to stand trial.
If there is any family deserving of hell its these people
Jill, It’s over.
We should listen to Jill. IMO she is the one really ruling the country now.
He thinks his son died in Iraq….. makes sense he wouldnt remember exactly when
That there are so many complicit is breath taking. Pure evil.
Has anyone considered that Joe tried to stonewall his way through his interview by saying “ I can’t recall” or “ I don’t remember” so many times to the point that Hur got fed up and said, “Fine, well just note that the President’s memory is faulty and say it’s probably because of his age” in a revenge move that has now blown up in the Dems’ faces?
Or, drop charges against Trump.

That would be best for our side but Democrats never let a crisis go to waste. I think they will concede that Biden is too old to be President and then try to connect Trump to Biden by saying Trump is too old to be President.
the president ‘cooperated fully with a Special Counsel’s investigation and they found he did nothing wrong.’
Bald faced lie!
Joe and Jill say he’s fine, never felt better. Fully competent. Hell, then prosecute him.
My guess is Jill only said the things that were written for her by staff.
I’m making a popcorn run, do you need any? This is going to become very entertaining!
What did Jill say about her husband showering with her daughter?
FOX just did another quote from Jill…..
“I can’t imagine someone would try to use our son’s death to score political points…Joe is 81, that’s true, but he’s 81 doing more in a hour than most people do in a day. His age with his experience and expertise, is an incredible asset and he proves it every day”.
Jill Biden suffers from co-dependency, she is the enabler.
Especially since he does more in an hour than most people do in a day. With that kind of productivity, he should have plenty of time on his hands.
You mean anyone other than his father?
