America now indulges, supports and even encourages this particularly bad form of extreme narcissism and mental illness.
When your “identity” depends on the actions of everyone else, it’s a pretty weak “reality.”

When my son was about 4 and his friend was 3, the friend said “When I grow up I want to be a triceratops!” My son replied “You can’t be a triceratops. You’re a boy, and you’ll always be a boy.”
Pretty sad when a 4-year old has clearer thinking than many adults.
That should endear them with hard working normal people?
You can claim you are a toaster but it doesn’t mean you can toast a bagel.
Besides, everyone knows You’re not a toaster.
