The Biden Administration were the ones who fomented the war by their actions and implicit threats regarding their intentions in the Ukraine. Given that Biden's predecessor, Obama and Victoria Nuland openly organized and executed a color revolution in Ukraine that ousted the elected leader of the country in 2014, Putin had every right to take these threats seriously.

We disagree and it is beyond dispute that the Biden Administration was working to provoke Putin and foment an invasion of Ukraine. It is also beyond dispute that Biden and Boris Johnson torpedoed a done deal peaceful dispute resolution between Russia and the Ukrainian the first weeks of the invasion.

Various EU diplomats bragged that the conflict in Ukraine was a willful act on the part of the US and NATO to “attrit” Russian military strength and bleed Russia troops all with a proxy war fought on Ukrainian territory and with only Ukrainian troops getting maimed and killed.

No less a person than Lindsey Graham confirmed our participation in the proxy war.

Not excusing Putin or Russia in this, just providing the context on how and why we are where we are in this insane goat rope.
