Doesn't sound like much of a "call to step down." Someone asked him the question and he says, "I think so." That's pretty flaccid if that's all there is.

This thin statement is actually quite strong. Cruz is relaying what the GOP caucus is saying amongst themselves. Mitch really blew it with the border deal. He didn't read the room, can't be trusted to negotiate further legislation, and needs to go.
