Entertain is exactly what a journalist must NOT prioritize. If he does he's no better than Oprah or Kim Kardashian. This is what's been wrong with network news for decades. That and the practice of paying glamorous news readers like star athletes. Don't tell me that Tucker isn't anticipating a nice bump to his income from this. Would he have done it for free? Doubt it. He's been prancing about Moscow like a movie star posing on the red carpet at the Academy Awards for what..2 or 3 days now? Everything a good marketing guy would have him do, I'll grant you. But objectivity it ain't. And y'all are falling for it. What was it that P.T. Barnum said?

Oh, I disagree. A REPORTER seeks to inform facts, not editorialize or entertain. A JOURNALIST may employ facts, but his or her main objective is to influence; and one of the best ways to influence is to make the message entertaining (i.e., keep the audience engaged).

What’s this “y’all” crap, kemosabe? I said Carlson is not a reporter, but is a journalist. Ergo, he has to entertain or his message (and journalists ALL have a message to impart) will likely be ignored.

Falling? For what? Listening doesn't = believing. As an American in the current iteration of America I don't believe anything that I can't verify. That said, we don't help ourselves by walking around with our own fingers in our ears.
It's much better to hear what we hear unfiltered and use our own judgment and verification to filter out the untruths, than to let someone else decide what we hear - using their own biases and agendas to do the filtering.
