“The three-judge panel of the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia ruled that there was no basis for Trump to assert that former presidents have blanket immunity from prosecution for any acts committed as president.”
(The presiding judge has postponed the trial indefinitely while the immunity battle continues.)
It was a given that this would be the opinion of the DC court. The left was becoming irate that they hadn’t already issued the opinion. Now it goes to SCOTUS. Roberts could punt and not hear it this session and put it off until the next term which begins in October thus delaying the case even further.
However, the case remains on hold for the time being.
