If obiden gets recreated back into, the wh- the left will crow that they didn’t cheat and that the public c,early saw “how good the economy was going” (a complete lie, but they will say it enough ti es that the sheep.e will beleive it despite still paying very prices for goods), and that is why they elected obiden.

Vermont is full of poor people who were born there to hippie parents. Their parents moved there from NYC in the 1960s & 70s. Ben and Jerry are classic examples. They got rich selling ice cream.

There are very few good paying jobs in VT. It is basically a tourist economy. People who work at ski areas which for the most part is season work. Places like Killington are mostly empty in the summer. Lots of people get laid off come April.

There are still a lot of dairy farms in the valleys between the mountains. I think cows still outnumber people. The farmers are the only conservatives left. They will have signs on their barns that say TAKE BACK VT. The issue is they are way outnumbered by the slackers or part time workers.

When you see a nice looking house it is almost always a vacation home for someone from NY, NJ, CT, MA, RI, etc.
The same story when you stay at some small bed and breakfast inn. They are almost always owned by some guy and his wife that made their fortune on Wall street. Now they make pancakes.

If 60% of “workers” live paycheck to paycheck, Sanders should be screaming against Biden’s cruel policy of importing millions of migrant to drive down wages. Socialists are so emotionally driven to destroy the US that rational thought is
not possible for them.

The new definition of an economy doing well is that a consumer can still, after all, purchase gasoline, groceries, clothing, if they can afford it.

imagine if Biden were actually in control of his sentences, and NOT in the grip of dementia and cognitive impairment. That would be Bernie Sanders. every bit as wrong as Biden, but still a coherent custodian of “the narrative”

I use to take fishing trips up north to Minnesota and Canada. The locals make a majority of their money in about 3 or 4 months unless they are working in mining or logging. The seasonal workers that need full time pay move around. This was some years ago. We had a forecaddie that volunteered he split time between Chicago and Arizona. His in-laws lived in Arizona and his parents lived in the Chicago area, so no housing costs and the grandparents got to be around the kids. The wife worked as a waitress and pulled in some bacon...

Seasonal work is fine if you are young and unattached.

Twenty five years ago I vacationed on Grand Cayman. Stayed at the Westin on Seven Mile beach. Almost everyone working there was from Canada. We got to talking to a young girl from Vancouver. She was the cocktail/beach waitress. She said is was her second year doing it. She came down in December and worked there until the end of April. She lived in a house with four other girls that all worked at the beach hotels.

She said she made $40K Cayman dollars in 5 months. The thing was at that time a Cayman dollar was worth twice the Canadian loonie and 1.5 the US dollar. So, she made $80K Canadian in 5 months. She went to college up in Canada the rest of the year. However, she kept her money in a bank in Grand Cayman(there were dozens of them, maybe a hundred). I asked her how she got her money home. She said she would go to Western Union in Canada for a wire transfer. I suspect she did not pay taxes on her Cayman earnings.

FYI, back then the Cayamn’s were the best place to work in the Caribbean. The next best place was the British Virgin Islands. When we were in Cayman there were kids working there from the UK, Australia, Canada and the US. They had their pick of the best employees(best looking kids) that wanted to work down there.

Back around the financial crisis of of 08/09 we used to stop at a supper club called the Spot at International Falls Minnesota. The restaurant had historical firefighting equipment as props to to get people to visit. The new owners sold everything off to finance the purchase. It was just a bunch of tables after that..

Working from home likely killed off a bunch of foot traffic and didn’t make the other 2 locations viable.
