Did anyone but someone knowledgeable like you know that? It's not like it happens every day, but the article of this thread was piling on to Boeing's recent problems with something that isn't a Boeing only issue.
Most commercial airline windshields are electrically heated, so the inside of the glass could be maybe 125 degrees and the outside of the could be -40 degrees.
Cracks can happen with that sort of thermal stress.

Many of these new claims are really maintenance issues. A wheel fell off the front landing gear off an older 757 a couple weeks ago. The wheel cover was firmly attached…….but they didn’t have any of the lug nuts on it.

This is not completely out of the ordinary. Cracked windscreens happen on high speed aircraft.
If the windscreen held, and the aircraft landed successfully, it's not a catastrophe, it's an inconvenience, and a tribute to modern materials and engineering.

I do not have a reason to fly anyway. My kids and grandkids are all nearby. I do not like travel.

This is like Burger King/others saying McDonald's is made out of worms.
Bad publicity for your biggest competitor...
