Yup- when the whole nonsense of electric vehicles and electric only appliances and tools was proposed years agO, immediately it became clear that the reason was so that the $$ would, roll into government in the form of taxes and fees with higher electric prices once the nation or state became electric only, or even majority electric. Their motives were crystal clear, and lo and behold, they are down just that.
They can do a “peak gasoline refilling” tax or charge when folks gas up their vehicles, so they are pushing for a system where hey can control prices and times.
I also predict that once the nation goes full electric, if it does, THEN authorities and powers that be will declare that even though everything is electric, creating electricty still requires fossil fuels to create, so hey must “Increase Prices” even further to compensate for the damage thatfossil fuels that are used to create it do O the environment”
Never saw the movie. I was in Wales to research my family history. Mered and Phyllis spent lots of time doing research on old Welsh music. Some of their "finds" were passed along to Linda Griffiths whose group Plethyn has performed and recorded the music for posterity. Mered and Phyllis suprised me with the original document from the National Library of Wales in Aberyswyth that recorded the adoption of my great grandfather by his uncle in Llanfihangel-y-Creuddyn. I was beyond surprised. My great grandfather went on to emigrate to the US and fought in the Union Army in 1863.
The crossover was pure coincidence between my travels for family history and the current political changes in Wales. I'm still studying Welsh to facilitate reading old records that remain in Welsh. Very handy when walking through a cemetery to read the headstones or reading old parish records.
An example of the kind of music Mered and Phyllis found in the library and passed to Plethyn is Tan yn Llyn. Lyrics in Welsh and English in the music video.
Good point. The power grid needs to have “base power” when wind and solar fail. If those plants are sitting idle or are running at reduced capacity, they aren’t making any money. Prices have to be adjusted upwards to compensate for the idle time.
