More Funds Go Missing in Ukraine
Armstrong Economics ^ | Martin Armstrong

Posted on 01/30/2024 7:23:47 AM PST by delta7

Ukraine hosts one of the most corrupt governments in the world. The West and NATO have provided Ukraine with billions in funding but have been unable to track where the money is spent. They do not investigate where the money is spent because they also lack ethics and are only concerned that the war wages on. It comes as no surprise that Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has uncovered a major arms corruption scheme.

An arms dealer by the name of Lviv Arsenal and five senior members of the defense ministry are being questioned for a secret deal worth around $40 million. Defense officials expensed a purchase for 100,000 mortar shells in August 2022 but never received a single shipment. “According to the investigation, former and current high-ranking officials of the Ministry of Defence [sic] and heads of affiliated companies are involved in the embezzlement,” it said.

Ukraine’s prosecutor general claims that all stolen funds have magically returned to the military’s budget.

2023_10_21_14_32_29_Zelensky_gags_media_on_corruption_editor_in_chief

Then, the SCU announced that two lawmakers from the Opposition Platform – for Life Party orchestrated a heist involving 32 merchant ships to the tune of $2.1 million. The political party was banned from Ukraine for pro-Russian policies, and countless crimes are now being attributed to anyone affiliated with this party. The SBU claims that these two men illegally transferred these merchant ships through a shell company before removing them from Ukraine and stripping them for parts. The men then used the parts to assemble new ships to hide their source. The pro-Russian group later repurposed the vessels for their own business endeavors. Again, the SBU seized all stolen assets and announced to the public after doing so.

These are merely two examples of corruption in Ukraine revealed in a single week.

Zelensky routinely puts on a charade where he pretends to address the corruption and bribery. In August 2023, Zelensky fired all regional military commissars and replaced his defense minister. “This system should be run by people who know exactly what war is and why cynicism and bribery at a time of war is high treason,” the president stated.

According to a poll, Ukrainians consider corruption the country’s second most serious problem, behind only the Russian invasion. The country is still ranked as one of the most corrupt in Europe, and its Corruption Perception Index was 33/100 in 2022, ranking 116 out of 180 countries. If Zelensky were to “drain the swamp,” no one would be left in the US-funded Ukrainian government.

You mean how Ukraine is supposedly stealing mass amount of what is given and they are still fighting Russia to a stand still if not better. That does not make your side look very smart, Does it?

Kind of an ignorant response, since they're also getting stuff from other countries: UK, Germany, France, Italy, Poland, Spain, Netherlands, Canada, Sweden, Austria, Denmark, Belgium, Norway, Czech Republic and Japan. Hell, Biden's even begged South Korea and Japan to send ammo to Ukraine.

That is right so many countries are aiding them since they do not want to go back to Russia being at our throats like they were during the post world war2. I would think it is ignorant to not figure out what is going on and not see the danger of Russia. Beside we are the bigger supplier of Ukraine and most of what we are sending is armaments so it is a little hard to steal cash that way.

" I would think it is ignorant to not figure out what is going on and not see the danger of Russia. "

You don't have to lecture me. I grew up in the 50's and 60's, with the threat of nuclear strikes at any time. And the propaganda you are spreading, is the same crap that was pushed on Americans back then. We're not buying it anymore. It's not our problem. It's Europe's problem, and we already baled those a-holes out twice. A third time isn't an option, but Biden is willing to start WWIII so he can continue to get kickbacks for his crime family, and all the corrupt U.S. warmonger politicians like Lindsey Graham that have their heads up his arse.

You proxy war-supporting individuals that run around crying about Russia, refuse to see the invasion that has been going on in this country for decades. Illegal immigration, and all the evils it brings with it, have been going on for many years, and it's only gotten worse as time has passed. While you're focusing on Russia, your own country is being destroyed from within right under your eyes, without a shot being fired. Not by Russia, but by your own government that has allowed it to happen. And that includes Democrats and Republicans. Ever since the Korean War we've been fighting proxy wars with Russia and China. Now you can throw Iran into that mix. Nobody wins proxy wars other than the people who have investments in the military industrial complex. And that's what you are supporting.

Frankly, I don't give two $hits about Russia or Ukraine. They are both corrupt countries that have made politicians on both sides of the aisle here, their family members, and their big donors very wealthy. Keep focusing on Russia, because that's what the left and globalists want, and while you're shaking in your boots about Russia, your government has destroyed the military here, the Chi-coms have infiltrated every aspect of American life, terrorists, criminals, and illegals with unknown diseases are crossing the border every day, and want to destroy everything you have, and your government is helping them to do just that.

So please take your poor attempt at pro-war propaganda to UMCRevMom's threads. That's the only place that appreciates them.

I never thought I would see the day when Russia would be seen as irrelevant by Conservatives even though it continues on the same path as the old Soviet Union. I grew up in the 50’s and 60’s as well and I do not want to go back to that. Russia is a vicious corrupt and predatory country that poses a danger to the rest of the world and now you are talking like McGovern, Church, Ted Kennedy and all of the other lib freak surrender monkeys.

An out of control super power that is predatory ad aggressive is the business of everyone on the planet. As far as not seeing the invasion of illegals that is another different story. Are you saying we should just concentrate on that when the government is spending us into bankruptcy? What about when children are being aborted. We have many problems that need to be addressed and many opportunities like bring Russia to heel. Do wee just let criminals run around on the street because that is someone elses problem? It is the business of everyone, and now is a once in a life time opportunity to put and end to it. Don't feed this garbage about proxy wars, Victoria Nuland, neocons and all of this other pablum, since you cannot even think except in terms of cliche. I suppose you think Ronald Reagan would just let Russia run lose. Well he didn't and neither should we.

Like I said, you need to be more worried about the invasion that is taking place on your southern border than what is going on with Ukraine's. You ignore it at your own peril. Try focusing on the things that are adversely effecting this country now, not on the what ifs. We focused on the what ifs in the 50's and 60's, and we ended up taking our eye off the ball, and our country was taken over by a bunch of commies. They sent our troops overseas to fight the spread of communism so it didn't come here, but it did anyway, without firing a shot.

And stop worrying about Europe. They need to step up and take responsibility, instead of relying on the U.S. to fix their problems for them.

Tell me what our national security interest is in Ukraine, and can you do that without bringing Russia into it? If Russia didn't exist, what national security reason would we have to send money, military equipment, or American troops to Ukraine?

You talk about an out-of-control, predatory superpower, and yet you leave out China. As far as I'm concerned, China is the biggest threat to this country, not Russia, and China has done the biggest damage to this country, not Russia. They're the ones that have infiltrated, and weakened America with the help of both political parties, not Russia.

My point about focusing on illegals pouring over our open border, was to point out to you, the fact that you are more concerned about Ukraine's borders than you are of this country's borders. You put Ukraine's survival above this country's. You apparently don't believe in America First, or that Americans should be more concerned with their own freedom than the people in Ukraine. Our rights are being trampled on, and taken away every day here, so why shouldn't we focus our sights on here, not there? This country is not the policeman of the world. We've tried that several times, and it's always comes back to bite us in the arse. How many times do we have to do it, to figure out that it doesn't work? And while we're fighting someone else's battle, our own country dies a little more. Can we stop OUR country from dying first, before we go to war for another country?

You've chosen Ukraine's wellbeing over the wellbeing of this country. I hate to tell you, but sending billions of dollars to a corrupt country like Ukraine, without making a requirement that every penny, and piece of equipment is accounted for on the other end is insanity. You claim concern about the government spending us into bankruptcy, but you are part of the problem, because you think we need to financially support a proxy war that is bankrupting this country, and depleting our own military supplies. When the usurper in the White House has to borrow ammo from South Korea and Japan to send to Ukraine, you know your country's in trouble. When the usurper in the White House is selling our stockpiled oil to China, you know your country's in trouble.

As I previously said, the only people that win proxy wars are the ones with the most money in their pockets at the end. The American people have never won a proxy war that we have been involved with, and we won't win this one either. And you need to do some history about just how long Ukraine and Russia have been struggling with each other. It's been decades. And people invading Ukraine didn't just start with Putin. You can go all the way back to the Greeks, Romans and Huns who made their presence known there. Then continue on up through the Vikings, Mongols, Lithuania, and Poland. Even Catherine the Great annexed Crimea in 1783, then Napoleon came along in 1812.

Russia and Ukraine aren't our business at this point in time. What is our business is saving our country, not some overseas country the size of Texas. Democrats want to turn Texas Red. That's why they been running illegals into this country for decades. Would you rather save Ukraine, or save Texas? You need to get your priorities in line. Ukraine shouldn't be the #1 issue on your list. You're actually the surrender monkey. You've listened to the propaganda of the left and Rinos, and surrendered your right to life to the Neo-cons who put Ukraine's needs above the needs of the American citizens in this country. Wake up.

Where did I post “warmongers”?

Don’t put words in my mouth.

Yes, fake. No video, no refugee camps, no photos, no front lone reporters on TV. Where are the planes and planes of displaced Ukrainians coming to other countries?

It’s all internet fodder. Waste of billions that aren’t accounted for after 3 years.l

Warmongers was a word I hear continually from those posting on your side. If you did not use it I apologize. However this war is very real and it is not fake. It is the Russians who are leaving the Ukrainians are staying and fighting. are you actually saying that all of the action we see is staged? This is obviously not fake and it really is happening.

If you say so. I’m on crack? You must be dropping LSD. :-)

We saw more real war on TV one week I’m Gaza than we’ve seen in three years in Ukraine.

It’s all press. Russia takes X; Ukraine takes back X and Y. Russia plows through Z, oh wait, that’s not true says blah, yes it is says blah blah.

Ok. Real I guess.
