The day after he had resigned as chair of the Arizona Republican Party and as his plans for a huge Donald Trump fundraiser in Phoenix collapsed in chaos, Jeff DeWit melted down.
'This place is a sinking ship,' he told stunned staff at party headquarters on Thursday, according to a source familiar with his words.
'You should all get out now.'
Factions are battling for control. Its campaign war chest is depleted after Trump dropped out of its biggest fundraising event of the year. And Democrats see a chance to turn the purple battleground state a deeper shade of blue in November's elections.

As far as I am concerned, Ducey is one of the main reasons AZ is moving from purple to blue. He, as a McCainite was ore than happy to let the governorship go to a democrat as long as a solid conservative didn’t get it. He also showed zero backbone with the steal of the 2020 election. He is another Rino republican that should never hold office again, to include dog catcher.
