LDPR deputy and chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs Leonid Slutsky found himself at the center of a scandal after three journalists - deputy editor-in-chief of the RTVI television channel Ekaterina Kotrikadze, producer of the Dozhd television channel Daria Zhuk and correspondent of the BBC Russian Service Farida Rustamova accused him of sexual harassment. Slutsky himself denies guilt.
The Duma Ethics Commission, having heard Rustamova and Zhuk, did not find “behavioral violations in Mr. Slutsky,” advising the journalists to contact law enforcement agencies. After the decision of the Duma ethics commission, RBC and subsequently more than a dozen media outlets in various forms announced a boycott of the State Duma.
