The White House said Friday it was “deeply troubled” after Alabama executed a man using nitrogen gas in a first-of-its-kind capital punishment.
“The reports of Kenneth Smith and his death last night obviously is very troubling. It is very troubling to us as an administration, it is very troubling to us here at the White House,” press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters.
“The president has long said and has had deep deep concerns with how the death penalty is implemented and whether it is consistent … with our values,” she added.
Smith was put to death Thursday in Alabama night after breathing nitrogen gas through a face mask, causing oxygen deprivation. It was the first time the method had been used to execute an American prisoner.

I have an honest question about executions. Why not use fentanyl?
Is the White Coke House upset over the murder of defenseless Americans before and after birth?
The main reason the White House is upset is the post-asphyxiation IQ test. He still beat the President.
Complete bullsh*t! The only thing those running the White House are “deeply troubled” about is how to dispose of the freaking moron they fraudulently shoved in our faces so they could continue to destroy what’s left of our Constitutional Republic.
His struggles and fuss were caused by his knowing when the switch to nitrogen happened, so he held his breath for as long as he could.
If he had just had the mask put on, and given no clue as to when the switch to nitrogen would be, then he would have passed more quietly.
What method of execution would the president approve of? Or does he not approve of any kind? I wouldn’t know the details of what nitrogen inhalation is really like, but from what I hear, it is one of the most painless. Those who don’t mind abortion surely wouldn’t complain about nitrogen inhalation, would they?
What does the Pope say when the rehabilitation aspect doesn’t work with a convicted criminal? That’s usually when the death penalty has been instituted. It would be preferable when a person doesn’t need to be executed, but there comes a time when execution seems to the only punishment left.
Too bad they can’t try the new system to see if it’s safe.
I think it imperative that the WH institute a NITROGEN FREE POLICY for the WHITE HOUSE and Biden’s Delaware Residence. Install scrubbers that remove all traces of Nitrogen from the air. Brandon needs to transcribe an Executive Order banning Nitrogen from government facilities.
All Democrat politicians should jump in on this exciting trend and get scrubbers for their homes.
It’s the only way to be safe.
I think the White House just needs to look at this as a very late term abortion.”
Nice T shirt slogan
“Execution is just a late term abortion.”
I wonder how much money the technician got from deep state operatives? A little oxygen here, a little there, and death can be prolonged. It would require extensive knowledge of the gas mixtures and the equipment. Too much O2 and 'boom'... no technician.
For a bunch of shallow, selfish jackasses, they sure use the word “deep” a lot.
RE: It would be preferable when a person doesn’t need to be executed, but there comes a time when execution seems to the only punishment left.
Biden not only ‘doesn’t care about the way Jews were slaughtered October 7th, he and his goons and thugs don’t give a damn about the hundreds of thousands of America’s young killed by fentanyl..
Or the pain caused by millions of illegals dumped on our cities. Effing democrat monsters who hate our country But Biden DOES care about the damn criminals? Worst. President. Ever.
Can you say “fentanyl”? Put some in his coffee, juice or sandwich, and it’s bye-bye!
The abuse of drugs is a CHOICE. Those who CHOOSE to use know they risk death doing so. Their removing themselves from society is on them.
Much truth to what you’re saying...
