Y’all know Texas is the only state that can legally leave the union, by the law that admitted them. Texas was the only sovereign nation to join the US. They can leave anytime they want.
Just for you nit pickers Hawaii was conquered. I live there.
Texas can just take their football, refuse to play, and let the rest of the USA figure it out.
I would not blame them. I tire of the “Deep state” telling all the other states how to live.

This isn't quite right. Texas, by law, can succeed from itself, but not from the Union. Texas is the only state that can split itself into five new states.

The 1845 congressional resolution that admitted Texas as a state reads: "New States of convenient size not exceeding four in number, in addition to said State of Texas and having sufficient population, may, hereafter by the consent of said State, be formed out of the territory thereof, which shall be entitled to admission under the provisions of the Federal Constitution.”
