Have no idea if there was an actual attack on a U.S. warship or not but they apparently targeted two U.S. flagged merchant ships who are attempting passage through the Red Sea.

He points out that while U.S. & U.K. attacks on the Houthis have lessened their hostile acts, the important thing to consider is what the insurance companies are doing, and they are raising the rates on ships that pass through the Red Sea with it basically being a percent of the value of the ship and its cargo.
High-value ships like container ships taking the long route around Africa. And who wants to crew a ship with LPG as its cargo with the Houthis just needing one lucky hit?
It sounds like this might be two different encounters.
1st - Two U.S. flagged merchant ships targeted, about ~5+ hours ago.
2nd, allegedly, A U.S. "warship" was hit, about ~2 hours ago.
