These two articles from 2016 by the same author (two parts of the same treatise) explain the history of the wording of "natural born citizen" in the Constitution and its effect on the wording changes between the 1790 and 1795 Naturalization Acts. The author presents his conclusions on the Framers' meaning of "natural born citizen" via how and why the language was changed between the 1790 and 1795 Naturalization Acts.

They are long reads, but IMHO it's worth the time.

PJ: Thanks for sharing those two links re the scholarly Joseph DeMaio’s writings about the “natural born Citizen” (nbC) issue and language usage manipulation. He has written on the nbC issue since 2009. You can see his writings over those many years at this link: https://www.thepostemail.com/?s=DeMaio
