Under Bloomberg (with policies created by Guiliani) NY City hit the lowest murder rate in more than a century. total murders turned up under De Blasio, and then exploded higher since 2019

If you look at NYPD and City Statistics, while burglary is higher than under Bloomberg, their statistics show other felonies have remained stable over last 25 years. I find it hard to believe. I imagine many people just don’t bother to report crimes any longer

Certainly, quality-of-life clearly has declined. That has got to be a leading indicator for more crime in the future

I recall hearing that when Eric Adams was elected , that he would have a good handle on crime in New York City, because he’s a former police captain.

I don’t know if he’s enacted any new policies based on his law enforcement experience. Based on the crime stats we’re hearing it looks like he hasn’t done much yet.
